Part 3. The Battle of the Five Kingdoms.
The Book of Daniel
describes in details important
prophecies about the end of times and years
before the coming of Jesus Christ.
This is repeatedly
confirmed by the following verses:
Daniel 2:28. But there is a God in heaven that
revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days…
Daniel 8:17. … Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be the vision. 19.
And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what
shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end shall be.26. And the vision of
the evening and the morning which was told is true: wherefore shut thou up the
vision; for it shall be for many days
Daniel 10:14. Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter
days: for yet the vision is for many days
Daniel 12:4.
But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal
the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and
knowledge shall be increased. 9. And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till
the time of the end
Daniel's prophecies expand on and confirm the words of other prophets regarding the reign
of the Antichrist and his actions in recent years, the fate of all pagan kingdoms, and the final transfer of power to holy men. Verses 4 and
9 of chapter 12 inform us that Daniel was not permitted to record the entire
vision and interpretation in a book. This is God's secret, which must remain
hidden until the end, so that God's Word will be fulfilled exactly as planned.
The first prophetic word from God is conveyed to Nebuchadnezzar in a dream
about a huge idol, then to Daniel in a vision of 4 beasts, and
all of this together testifies to the four pagan kingdoms preceding the reign
of Christ and the beginning of the reign of believers on earth.
Daniel 2:1. And
in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar Nebuchadnezzar dreamed
dreams, wherewith his spirit was troubled, and his sleep brake from him
Daniel 7:1. In
the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions
of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the sum of the
matters
Belshazzar is the son of King Nebuchadnezzar.
The interpretation of these prophetic dreams and
visions is, by God's will, available only to Daniel, His faithful servant. God
spoke to Daniel three times through Angel, as Daniel desired to understand
these mysteries, and it was highly appreciated. God reveals himself to those
who seek Him.
Daniel 9:23. At
the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to
shew thee; for thou art greatly beloved:
therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision
Daniel 7:17. These great beasts, which are four, are
four kings, which shall arise out of the
earth.18. But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess
the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever
To summarize, for easy understanding, from the time of
the Babylonian Kingdom until the reign of the saints, four kings/kingdoms will
arise, each of which will in turn rule over all nations on earth. Power from
one kingdom will pass by force/violence through bloody war to another kingdom.
Power abhors a vacuum; the new kingdom, at the first opportunity, will overpower
the previous one and take possession of the land. This is described in detail
in chapter 11.
The First Kingdom: Babylon (head of
gold – Daniel 2:38, lion with wings and a human heart – Daniel 7:4). King –
Nebuchadnezzar (Daniel 2:37-38). The kingdom passed to Medo-Persia (Daniel
5:28).
The Second Kingdom: Medo-Persia (breast
and arms of silver – Daniel 2:32, bear – Daniel 7:5, ram – Daniel 8:20). Kings
– Darius, Cyrus (Daniel 5:31; 10:1). Expansion to the west, north, and south
(Daniel 8:4). Fragmented and conquered by the kingdom of Greece.
The Third Kingdom: Greece (belly and
thighs of brass – Daniel 2:32, leopard with 4 heads and 4 wings – Daniel 7:6,
goat with 4 horns – Daniel 8:5-8, 21-22). Expansion from the west to all
directions (Daniel 8:5, 8). Dominion over all the earth (Daniel 2:39). This
kingdom expanded to its maximum extent and was fragmented in all directions
(the meaning of “belly” is the reproductive system).
Most of all, Daniel asked for an interpretation
specifically about the last 4th kingdom.
The Fourth Kingdom: The Kingdom of
the Antichrist (legs, shins, and feet
of iron and clay – Daniel 2:33, divided into 10 nations – Daniel 2:41-43,
Revelation 17:12-13, a beast with iron teeth and 10 horns – Daniel 7:7).
Enormous expansion to the south, east, and the Holy Land, the legacy of the Greek Kingdom
(Daniel 8:8-9). Terrible, horrible, and extremely powerful (Daniel 7:7).
King of the North (Daniel 11:21-45).
He is the 11th ruler of the kingdom and casts out the three previous kings (Daniel 7:7, 24).
A blasphemer of God, a persecutor of believers (Daniel 8:24, 7:8, 21,
11:33-36).
Insolent, treacherous (Daniel 8:23; 11:25).
Tramples down and crushes the whole earth – Daniel 7:23; 8:24; 11:22, 27.
Trampled and desecrated the temple of God, stopped the daily sacrifice – Daniel 8:10-12, 7:25,
9:27, 11:30-31; Matthew 24:15.
Killed by no human hand – Daniel 2:34, 45; 7:11, 26; 8:24-25; 11:45
Immediately after the death of the fourth kingdom, the
reign of the saints on earth begins.
The Fifth Kingdom:
The Kingdom of the Saints.
The Kingdom is passed on to believers forever. God reigns on earth.
Resurrection of the dead. Judgment of God.
Daniel 7:9 I beheld till the thrones were cast
down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the
hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and
his wheels as burning fire. 10. A fiery stream issued and came forth from
before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten
thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened
Daniel 2:44. And in the days of these kings shall
the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the
kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and
consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever
Daniel 7:14. And there was given him dominion, and
glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve
him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and
his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed 22. Until the Ancient of days
came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came
that the saints possessed the kingdom. 27. And the kingdom and dominion, and
the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the
people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
and all dominions shall serve and obey him
Daniel 12:2. And many of them that sleep in the dust
of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and
everlasting contempt
The main question is: which kingdom are we in now?
The first two are over. The fifth kingdom (of the
saints) has not yet begun.
The Greek kingdom has scattered, fragmented, and
multiplied in all directions, lasting as long as possible. Legally, the Greek
kingdom ceased to exist in 1997, when the last imperial inheritor announced the
decolonization of the captured lands. British Empire. The Kingdom of Greece
ended in 1974.
The most important conclusion we come to is that we
are now in the reign of the 4th kingdom (the Antichrist).
Power was transferred from the Greek kingdom to the
kingdom of the Antichrist through the First and Second World Wars.
This will significantly simplify the identification of
the kingdom and reign of the 10 kings after whom the Antichrist will reign.
According to the prophecy of Daniel 8:9, the
kingdom of the Antichrist is a vast territory to the south and east - And out of one of
them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the
south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land
Pleasant
land – This is the chosen and beloved people of God,
Israel, and the location of this land is also known:
Ezekiel 5:5. Thus saith the Lord GOD; This is Jerusalem: I have set it in the
midst of the nations and countries that are round about her
Israel is at the center of the world map, and this
prophecy has come true.
The Antichrist himself is the King of the North, also known as Gog from the land of Magog, from the far north.
Ezekiel 38:14. Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say unto Gog, Thus saith the Lord GOD; In that day when my people of Israel dwelleth safely, shalt thou not know it? 15. And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army: 16. And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes
The Kingdom of the
Antichrist.
Divided Kingdom (10 Nations):
Daniel 2:33. His legs of iron, his feet part of
iron and part of clay. 41. And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of
potters' clay, and part of iron, the
kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the
iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay. 42. And as the
toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be
partly strong, and partly broken. 43. And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with
miry clay, they shall mingle themselves
with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as
iron is not mixed with clay
Revelation
17:12. And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten
kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one
hour with the beast
11th ruler (king):
Daniel 7:7 After this I saw in the night visions, and
behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it
had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue
with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before
it; and it had ten horns. 8. I
considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little
horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots:
and, behold, in this horn were eyes like
the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things. 24. And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten
kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be
diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings
The King of the North:
Daniel 11:21.
And in his estate shall stand up a vile
person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall
come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries. 40. And at the time of
the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with
chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the
countries, and shall overflow and pass over. 45. And he shall plant the
tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet
he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.
Ezekiel 38:2. Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of
Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him, 3. And say, Thus saith the Lord
GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: 7.
Be thou prepared, and prepare for
thyself, thou, and all thy company that are assembled unto thee, and be
thou a guard unto them. 8. After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into
the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many
people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but
it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of
them. 9. Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to
cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee. 10. Thus
saith the Lord GOD; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall
things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought: 11. And thou
shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them
that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and
having neither bars nor gates, 12. To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn
thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people
that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that
dwell in the midst of the land. 15. And
thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many
people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty
army: 16. And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to
cover the land; it shall be in the
latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may
know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes. 17. Thus
saith the Lord GOD; Art thou he of whom I have spoken in old time by my
servants the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days many years that
I would bring thee against them? 23. Thus
will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of
many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD
Ezekiel 39:1. Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy
against Gog, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O
Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: 2. And I will turn thee back, and
leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and will bring thee upon the mountains
of Israel: 3. And I will smite thy
bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right
hand. 4. Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy
bands, and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous
birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured. 5. Thou
shalt fall upon the open field: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD
Location:
The North Kingdom.
Daniel 8:8 Therefore the he goat
waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it
came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven. 9. And out of one of
them came forth a little horn, which
waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the
pleasant land. 10. And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it
cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon
them. 11. Yea, he magnified himself even
to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away,
and the place of his sanctuary was cast down. 12. And an host was given him
against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the
truth to the ground; and it practised, and prospered

power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and
shall destroy the mighty and the holy people. 25. And through his policy also
he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many:
he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be
broken without hand
Daniel 11:36. And the king shall do according to his will;
and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall

even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do that which
his fathers have not done, nor his fathers' fathers; he shall scatter among
them the prey, and spoil, and riches: yea, and he shall forecast his devices
against the strong holds, even for a time. 40. And at the time of the end shall
the king of the south push at him: and the
king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and
with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and
shall overflow and pass over. 41. He
shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be
overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab,
and the chief of the children of Ammon. 42. He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land
of Egypt shall not escape

was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer

dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end
Daniel 2:34. Thou sawest till
that a stone was cut out without hands,
which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces. 35. Then was
the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces
together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind
carried them away, that no place was
found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain,
and filled the whole earth.

because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even

destroyed, and given to the burning flame
