Part 13. Asshur and Nineveh.
Asshur - this name belonged to one of the sons of Shem
(Genesis 10:22), and then passed to the people descended from him, who lived
along the eastern bank of the Tigris, approximately in the middle reaches of
this river, actually between the Tigris, its tributaries and the first spurs of
the mountain range. This region was very advantageous from the point of view of
military defense and internal development, and there the young people for many
years strengthened their independent spirit, gradually developing the cheerful
and energetic character that was later distinguished them and undergoing
military training in small but incessant wars with the wild mountaineers and
nomads who surrounded them. Subsequently, Assyria expanded and extended its
territory to the Euphrates, occupying no less than 75,000 square miles
(Ragozina. History of Assyria. 1902, pp. 6-7). Until 608 (the year of the fall
of the capital of the Assyrian kingdom, Nineveh). The Assyrian Empire was
considered the most powerful kingdom in the world, and Assyrian troops occupied
even Egypt on more than one occasion. Assyria's cultural significance for the
ancient world was also enormous, and its influence extended even to Egypt,
which itself possessed an ancient culture. Numerous monuments remain from
Assyria - the remains of palaces, temples, entire libraries, and state archives
which are still being studied today.
There are several links in Scripture that quite clearly
speak of the Antichrist of the last days, the proud blasphemer, destroyer,
conqueror and desolator, and his name is Asshur (in many translations –Assyria,
Assyrian).
The most important of them is that Asshur will be
killed by the spirit of God’s mouth at Armageddon – by God himself!
Isaiah 11:4. But with righteousness shall he judge
the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite
the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with
the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked
2 Thessalonians 2:8. And then
shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord
shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the
brightness of his coming: 9. Even him, whose coming is after the
working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10. And with all
deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received
not the love of the truth, that they might be saved
Daniel 8:23. And in the latter time of their kingdom, when
the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and
understanding dark sentences, shall stand up. 24. And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he
shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy
the mighty and the holy people. 25. And through
his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall
magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall
also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand
Isaiah 29:20. For the
terrible one is brought to nought, and the scorner is consumed, and all that watch for iniquity are cut
off
Isaiah 30:30. And the LORD shall cause his glorious
voice to be heard, and shall shew the lighting down of his arm, with the
indignation of his anger, and with the flame of a devouring fire, with
scattering, and tempest, and hailstones. 31. For through the voice
of the LORD shall the Assyrian be beaten down, which smote with a rod. 32. And in every place where the grounded
staff shall pass, which the LORD shall lay upon him, it shall be with tabrets
and harps: and in battles of shaking will he fight with it. 33. For Tophet is
ordained of old; yea, for the king it is prepared; he hath made it deep and
large: the pile thereof is fire and much wood; the breath of the LORD, like a
stream of brimstone, doth kindle it
Isaiah 31:8. Then shall the Assyrian fall with the sword, not of a mighty man; and the
sword, not of a mean man, shall devour him: but he shall flee from the
sword, and his young men shall be discomfited. 9. And he shall pass over to his
strong hold for fear, and his princes shall be afraid of the ensign, saith the
LORD, whose fire is in Zion, and his furnace in Jerusalem
Below are the prophecies regarding the destruction of
the Assyrian horde in the Valley of Megiddo on the last day of God's judgment.
Isaiah 10:5. O
Assyrian, the rod of mine anger, and the staff in their hand is mine
indignation. 6. I will send him against an hypocritical nation, and against the
people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the
prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets - capture of all
Israeli cities
7. Howbeit he meaneth not so, neither doth
his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy and cut off nations not a
few - the Antichrist
decides to conquer many nations of the earth
8. For he saith, Are not my princes
altogether kings? 9. Is not Calno as Carchemish? is not Hamath as Arpad? is not
Samaria as Damascus? 10. As my hand hath found the kingdoms of the idols, and
whose graven images did excel them of Jerusalem and of Samaria; 11. Shall I
not, as I have done unto Samaria and her idols, so do to Jerusalem and her
idols? 12. Wherefore it shall come to pass, that when the Lord hath performed his whole work upon mount Zion and on
Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of
Assyria, and the glory of his high looks - the army of the Antichrist is defeated by
the Power of God and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ near Mount Zion.
13. For he saith, By the strength of my
hand I have done it, and by my wisdom; for I
am prudent: and I have removed the bounds of the people, and have robbed their
treasures, and I have put down the inhabitants like a valiant man: 14. And
my hand hath found as a nest the riches of the people: and as one gathereth
eggs that are left, have I gathered all the earth; and there was
none that moved the wing, or opened the mouth, or peeped - the Antichrist
has subjugated absolutely all nations, the entire earth, everything is under
his control, he does whatever he wants.
24. Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD of hosts, O my people that dwellest in Zion, be not
afraid of the Assyrian: he shall
smite thee with a rod, and shall lift up his staff against thee, after the
manner of Egypt. 25. For yet a very
little while, and the indignation shall cease, and mine anger in their
destruction. 26. And the LORD of hosts shall stir up a scourge for him according to the slaughter of Midian at the rock of
Oreb: and as his rod was upon the sea, so shall he lift it up after the manner
of Egypt - destruction of
the military troops of the Antichrist
Isaiah 14:24. The LORD of hosts hath sworn, saying,
Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so
shall it stand: 25. That I will break the Assyrian in my land, and
upon my mountains tread him under foot: then
shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their
shoulders. 26. This is the purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth: and
this is the hand that is stretched out upon all the nations. 31. Howl, O gate;
cry, O city; thou, whole Palestina, art dissolved: for there
shall come from the north a smoke, and none shall be alone in his appointed
times
Here again, it's mentioned that Asshur and his troops are advancing from the north! If you look at the map, you'll see that Asshur's first empire and his capital, Nineveh, is located not at the northern limits at all, but rather in close proximity to the east.
Zephaniah 2:13. And he will stretch out his hand against
the north, and destroy Assyria; and will make Nineveh a desolation, and dry
like a wilderness
They are located slightly east of Israel. Is the Bible
giving us false facts or containing an error? Not at all. These prophecies are
not talking about Asshur or the Assyrian Empire, which constantly enslaved
Israel, like Egypt, in ancient times. They are talking about prophecies that
have not yet been fulfilled - about the Antichrist, the executor of God's
wrath, to execute His judgment on the entire earth.
Gog and Asshur are one and the same person. Gog's land
is the farthest northern country, at the very edge of the north. And, oddly
enough, Asshur's land is also northern. This is no coincidence. These are
additional facts (prophecies) that reveal the secrets of future events.
Isaiah 31:4. For thus hath the LORD spoken unto me,
Like as the lion and the young lion roaring on his prey, when a multitude of
shepherds is called forth against him, he will not be afraid of their voice, nor
abase himself for the noise of them: so
shall the LORD of hosts come down to fight for mount Zion, and for the hill
thereof. 5. As birds flying, so will the LORD of hosts defend Jerusalem;
defending also he will deliver it; and passing over he will preserve it. 6.
Turn ye unto him from whom the children of Israel have deeply revolted. 8. Then shall the Assyrian fall with the
sword, not of a mighty man; and the sword, not of a mean man, shall devour
him: but he shall flee from the sword,
and his young men shall be discomfited. 9. And he shall pass over to his strong hold for fear, and his princes shall
be afraid of the ensign, saith the LORD, whose fire is in Zion, and his
furnace in Jerusalem - Armageddon, the coming of the Lord, the destruction
of all the troops of the Antichrist.
Micah 5:6. And they shall waste the land of Assyria
with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he
deliver us from the Assyrian, when
he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders. 15. And I will execute vengeance in anger and fury
upon the heathen, such as they have not heard
Asshur, same as Gog, will not come to the land of
Israel alone. Many other nations will come with him to the Valley of Megiddo,
where the most unprecedented massacre will occur, as vengeance and punishment
from the Lord, the complete destruction of the Antichrist's armies, the
deliverance of His chosen people Israel from slavery, the beginning of God's
judgment, the beginning of a new era - the millennial reign of the saints.
Nineveh - the capital of the empire of Assur, the
Antichrist.
NINEVEH (נִנְוֵה, Ninveh; in Akkadian Ninua, Nina), a city in Assyria (Mesopotamia) on the east bank of the Tigris River (opposite modern Mosul); beginning with the reign of Sennacherib, the capital of the Assyrian Kingdom. Today, Tel Kuyunjik and Tel Nebi Yunis (where, according to Muslim tradition, the prophet Jonah is buried - Yunis in Arabic). Archaeological excavations conducted here (primarily in Kuyunjik) for about 150 years have revealed the existence of a settlement as early as the beginning of the 4th millennium BC. One of the oldest written references to Nineveh is the inscription of Naramsin (first half of the 23rd century BC). In the early 14th century BC. Nineveh belonged to the kingdom of Mitanni, but by the middle of the next century it returned to the rule of the Assyrian kings. Nineveh was the center of the cult of the goddess Ishtar (Astarte). The city reached the height of its prosperity when Sennacherib (705–681 BCE), who made Nineveh the capital, almost completely rebuilt it (under his rule, the city's area within the walls reached 15 square kilometers). On one of the city's outskirts, a botanical garden was laid out with plants brought from all over the empire; numerous luxurious buildings were constructed, including a royal palace, called "a palace without equal"; its walls were decorated with bas-reliefs depicting scenes of construction, hunting, and battles, including the siege of Lachish. Another palace (in the area of Nebi Yunis) was built by Sennacherib's son, Esarhaddon (680–669 BCE). The latter's son, Ashurbanipal (669–627 BCE), built a new palace and created an extensive royal library (several thousand cuneiform texts of literary, religious, lexicographic, astronomical, and historical content, as well as business documents, letters, and state treaties). At the end of Ashurbanipal's reign, the royal residence was apparently moved to Harran (biblical Haran). In 612 BCE, Nineveh was captured and destroyed by the armies of the Medes and Babylonians.
Nahum 1:9. What
do ye imagine against the LORD? he will make an utter end: affliction shall
not rise up the second time - the extermination of all sinners from the earth,
devastating wars waged by the Antichrist. This is the final devastating war;
another like it will never happen again. There will be no other disaster. This
is the End.
11. There is
one come out of thee, that imagineth evil against the LORD, a wicked
counsellor.
- the Antichrist
will come from Nineveh. The wicked counsellorl is the Antichrist's cunning plan
to conquer all the nations of the earth and trample upon the holy nation of
Israel. This isn't about some simple, ordinary sinner born in Nineveh who has
something against the Lord. There are millions of such people all over the
world. What is being spoken of here is specifically the Antichrist and his
grand plan.
14. And the LORD hath given a commandment concerning thee, that no more of
thy name be sown: out of the house of thy gods will I cut off the graven image
and the molten image: I will make thy grave; for thou art vile - God has
determined the fate of the Antichrist. He will have no descendants (children).
At his first coming, he will be mortally wounded and laid to rest in a stone
structure. The stone from which his idols are made - the monuments to Stalin,
Marx, Engels, and others - is a renovated Mausoleum of granite and other
mountain stones. The Antichrist will be despised by future generations. All the
ridicule, jokes, and even the sight of Lenin lying dead in the mausoleum - all
this still evokes contempt in people. This prophecy continues to this day and
will cease when the Antichrist is resurrected to fulfill God's Word - the
extermination of sinful nations.
Isaiah 10:5. O

Nahum 1:15. Behold upon the mountains the feet of
him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace! O Judah, keep thy solemn
feasts, perform thy vows: for the
wicked shall no more pass through thee; he is utterly cut off - the Antichrist is
destroyed, the disaster will not happen ever again.
It was precisely this modern city of Moscow (residence of the Antichrist, Asshur) that the prophet Nahum saw. He tried to describe modern cars on the streets in his own words, associating them with chariots that sparkled as if from fire (the gleam of their headlights and paintwork).
Zephaniah 2:13. And he will stretch out his hand against the north, and destroy Assyria; and will make Nineveh a desolation, and dry like a wilderness
Punishment will not be slow to come.
Habakkuk 2:8. Because thou hast spoiled many nations, all
the remnant of the people shall spoil thee; because of men's blood, and for the
violence of the land, of the city, and of all that dwell therein. 10. Thou hast
consulted shame to thy house by cutting off many people, and hast sinned
against thy soul. 11. For the stone shall cry out of the
wall, and the beam out of the timber shall answer it. 12. Woe to
him that buildeth a town with blood, and stablisheth a city by iniquity!
Moscow's fate is
nothing but ruin. Moscow will not get away unpunished. Just like the New
Babylon, which we will also discuss, Moscow will answer harshly for its
actions. It is the capital of the Antichrist's state, the great ruling city of
sinners (pagans), which the Bible identifies with Egypt - captivity,
enslavement, ruling supremacy, the pinnacle of pride and atheism.
Here is evidence
from the Bible that Asshur is spiritually equivalent to Egypt:
Isaiah 10:24.
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD of hosts, O my people that dwellest in Zion, be not afraid of the Assyrian: he shall
smite thee with a rod, and shall lift up his staff against thee, after the
manner of Egypt. 25. For
yet a very little while, and the indignation shall cease, and mine anger in

sea, so shall he lift it up after the

Zechariah 10:11. And he
shall pass through the sea with affliction, and shall smite the waves in the
sea, and all the deeps of the river shall dry up: and the pride of Assyria shall be brought down, and the
sceptre of Egypt shall depart away
As already been
noted in previous articles, it is precisely those two prophets of God who will
be killed by the Antichrist, who will come in the last days of their prophecy
to Moscow, to the very lair of the beast, to awaken him.
Revelation 11:3. And I will
give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two
hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. 7. And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that
ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall
overcome them, and kill them. 8. And their dead bodies shall lie in
the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt,
where also our Lord was crucified. 9. And they of
the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies
three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in
graves. 10. And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice
over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these
two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth. 11. And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered
into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which
saw them. 12. And they
heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they
ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them. 13. And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part
of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand:
and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven
Two prophets will be killed by the Antichrist, whether by him
personally or by his order, it doesn't matter.
In three and a half days, they will be resurrected and publicly ascend to
heaven! And then an earthquake will begin in Moscow, causing 10% of the
buildings to collapse and 7000 people to die. If you are reading this and live in Moscow, remember this important point. If you believe
in the essence of what is happening, and when it begins to come true, then give
glory to God and leave your home, don't stay in buildings, run outside. Perhaps
at that moment you will save your own and your loved ones' lives. This will be
a sign for you - the beginning of horror on earth. It is from this day that the
countdown will begin for the last seven years (2550 days) of the planet's life
until the transition to a new era – the return of Jesus Christ and the millennial kingdom of the saints.
Why does the Bible
call the Antichrist both Gog and Asshur is one person?
All the prophecies in the Bible are interconnected in
a logical, unbroken chain. Knowing that Asshur and Gog are the very same
Antichrist, and integrating the prophecies into a coherent whole, we obtain
very important and valuable clues to the origins, causes and consequences. We
have invaluable revelation from God - detailed information about the last days
and the Antichrist himself. Understanding and accepting this information will
allow people to make important decisions, once again being convinced of their
correctness, seeing how unconditionally and promptly the biblical prophecies
are being fulfilled. This information can save the lives of many. Just don't
remain silent when all this is coming to pass. At the slightest opportunity, share
what you know with your neighbors, family, loved ones, or simply passersby on
the street. The word of truth acts quickly and seemingly unnoticed, but it
does. By telling this to another person, they will be convinced once again when
they personally witness the events they were told about in advance and are only
now coming true. This is how faith awakens. Faith in God. This faith can save a
person from destruction, from hell.
Daniel 11:32. And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by
flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do
exploits. 33. And they that understand among the people shall instruct many:
yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil,
many days
This will happen. Wise
and informed people of God will speak the truth to others, saving them from the
hands of hell, but thereby suffering persecution. The reward from the Lord is
very great. A great blessing awaits such people, great glory and honor. All
this will be revealed later, once all the prophecies are fulfilled, the Day of
Judgment comes, and the Lord will appear on earth with all the saints to judge
sinners. Some will go to punishment, others to the honor and glory of God.
